Danny Gray

Danny Gray is a Director on Permanent Equity's investing team, and one of the first people an owner or advisor talks to. He spends his time reaching out to business owners and advisors and helping evaluate new investments. He sits on the boards of Blue Square Manufacturing, Chance Rides, and Mediacross.

Danny gravitates toward businesses that operate in the physical world and do something genuinely their own – businesses where he learns about an industry he'd never considered and then starts noticing it everywhere in daily life. He's especially drawn to owners who've found a way to solve a customer's problem so well they can charge a premium for it. And he likes getting into the financials to find the story the numbers are telling (he’s a recovering CPA).

Most of all, he likes hearing it from the owners themselves about how they built the business, and how they got to where they are today.

A St. Louis native, Danny joined Permanent Equity in 2021. When he's not at the office, you'll find him spending time with his wife and son, heading down to his family's cabin, working on house projects, or sipping a whiskey. He's also usually looking forward to his next trip to the mountains.
