Call Someone
I wrote a while back about picking up the phone as an effective way to collect receivables. And that’s one reason to call someone. But another might be that you want to talk to them.
I had an incredible Friday not long ago. Around 1pm, a former coworker I hadn’t talked to in a decade called, and we chatted for over an hour. We caught up on family, friends, our former place of employment, and how we might be helpful to one another given what we each were doing now. It was awesome.
Then at the end of the day, as I was at home answering emails trying to close out the week, the best man in my wedding – who I also hadn’t talked to in a long while (I’m terrible at distance, but decent in person) – called. We caught up and that was awesome, too. I texted him afterwards that his call made my day and thanked him for making it.
It might be the case that as a borderline sociopath, you’re better at holding relationships than I am. I hope so. But if not, and you’re like me, call someone you love that you haven’t talked to in a long time this weekend and have a chat. It’ll make both your days, maybe your entire weekend.
Have a great one.
– Tim
