We’re Not Skimping on the Swag

One of these whatever-they-are that resonated most was “Don’t Skimp on the Swag.” The point was that if you’re gonna get swag – and you should – get the good stuff that people actually want to wear. At Permanent Equity, we’ve taken that advice seriously (because why not take your own advice?). We’ve upgraded our tees, launched a gym line (shoutout Alex), and handed out premium joggers to commemorate our annual Run to Rocheport 5K. The brains behind all of this is Scratchmade Supply Co., the affiliate we spun up to bring Swag-as-a-Service (shoutout SaaS) to the world.

The funny thing about being the don’t-skimp-on-the-swag people is that other people start sending you the swag they didn’t skimp on to show you. For example, the local soccer club (shoutout u14 girls) now has great swag. Kelie at 10th Street Talent? Incredible swag. And friends of the firm keep sending in nicer and nicer stuff.

So now I might as well be a NASCAR driver walking down the street. It’s not because I’m cheap, but because it’d be rude not to wear the great swag people give you.

At the end of the day, it’s fun to be proud of something you’re part of. And when you’re proud of something, you wear it. But what’s even more fun is when something you’re proud of gets picked up and worn by someone else.

I celebrated my 7th anniversary with Permanent Equity in October, and I’m proud of that. But I was even more proud when I saw someone I didn’t know wearing our dope blue and white PE mesh hat at the pool this summer.

As Neon Deion says, “Feel good, play good, play good, pay good.”
